hi i am traveling to Toronto with my wife and my 2 years old child. since I am going for longer period(2 months) i am looking for a furnished suite/apartment/condo(1 bedroom + furnished kitchen + parking, i am not looking for studios or shared kitchen ). i have searched a lot and found many short term and vacation rentals but they are either not available in the time frame i am going(mid April – 5 June) or are very expensive(more than CAD 2000, my budget is up to 2000 for the entire duration)
i am looking for a place like downtown area where there is a mall(eaton center) , shopping on the street(so that we can go out and walk any time) , late night open supermarket/superstore & parks.
i know there are many such places in toronto and not just down town but i am not familiar with them
please suggest me a good place or provide me a link where i can search for the apartment. so far i have searched the classifieds online.
Is CAD2000 enough for 1.5 months. ? which area should i stay in . which apartment/condo

coming back to my question. what if i increase my budget to CAD2500 and it does not need to be downtown. but a place where there is a shopping mall at walking distance, a large park with swings, a shopping street, drugmart, wallmart and night life
the thing is that i ll be staying for first 2 weeks in toronto and then the last 2 weeks in between i will fly to different destinations like BC. but i am willing to pay for the whole 41 days.
what do you people suggest

Unfortunately, $2000.00 is not very much for a furnished apartment in downtown Toronto for that length of time. I couldn’t find anything on the web though I tried a lot of sites. The most reasonable apartment hotel I found for that length of time was about $75.00 a day. You might be able to find something further out of the central core area. look on craigslist, you maybe lucky enough to find a sublet, but as the other poster said, apartments start at about 1000-1500 a month for rent, for a 1 bedroom apartment and go up from there. you may want to try also posting in the wanted section and specify your needs and dates of travel, you may be contacted by somebody with a similar schedule.
you won’t get anything close to downtown or the Eaton Centre for that cost, you are talking about a few grand a month in rent for most of what is called "Old York" which is the area by the waterfront over to Queen St

I dont know exact prices or anything, but I can tell you that 2000 for 2 months is likely not going to be enough to live right downtown if you want a good quality place. You may be able to find something, but it would probaly be pretty trashy and in a shady area.
