History of Cranbrook, BC from 1883-the 70′s

Thanks for watching my video! It’s amazing what Cranbrook was like, it almost looks like a whole different place. Just to let everyone know, the first song is “At Last” by Etta James, the second song is “Sentimental Journey” by Doris Day, and the last song is “It’s Magic” by Doris Day.

Just to let everyone know, it wasn’t the city itself who demolished so much of the history, it was the Moderization of Canada. Cranbrook is still a very beautiful place, and is moving very well into the future. Respect the current city councilors and mayor, they are doing a very good job. If you actually think about what they have brought, they have brought a new International Airport, an expansion into a regional hospital, and the college expansion, history is coming back like the Arches in Downtown, and many more like Wal-Mart, Staples, the Real Canadian Superstore, Delta Air Lines, the Home Depot, the RecPlex, and a major upgrade to many streets and roads. I am saying this because so many people don’t look at the positive things the City of Cranbrook has brought to the city.

This is a really cool video of my home town, born, raised and still live here. Unfortunately too young to have seen any most of these buidings. It really is true that they destroyed this town by demolishing all of these neat old buildings and slapping up modern crap. Everyone who has any history here should see this video.

Great job on the video, I lived in Cranbrook during the 1970′s. I remember the Central High School building well. Cranbrook is a delightful city in a beautiful valley. I have fond memories of the place.
