This years fist-annual Shop4Siloam was a giant success in helping Siloam Mission raise groceries and funding for the less fortunate this Easter. ICUC Moderation Services helped raise over $600 in cash donations and a boat load of groceries to feed everyone.
Earlier this week @SiloamMission sent out a tweet looking for donations during the holiday and ICUC Moderation Services very own Lindsay Woroniak, HR Manager jumped online to immediately fill the needs of this worthy cause.
The donations will be used for Easter dinner this Sunday at Siloam Mission, to feed approximately 500 people who are experiencing poverty and homelessness, said Joelle Schmidt, communications coordinator for Siloam Mission. The extra food donations will be used to make meals throughout the week. The donations are greatly appreciated and much needed, as Siloam Mission serves up to 900 meals each day to those in need.
Siloam Mission has had a bit of a rough year with recent layoffs and other international crisis driving peoples charitable donations in many directions. We had a wonderful turnout of people who showed up at The Real Canadian Superstore on Bison Drive to either shop on behalf of the organization or make a cash donation.
To get involved with Siloam Mission, you can donate or volunteer. Donations can be made through financial or material support and volunteers can help with many of Siloams programs and services. Volunteering could include: meal prepping and serving, sorting through clothing donations, or helping with events. Donations can be made online, in person, or by mail. Please visit their website at siloam.ca or visit us in person at 300 Princess Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
