To clarify speculators here. They did NOT go in to try to contain the fire. It was an exterior attack until about 10 mins in, thats when the call came in that one of the workers was still trapped somewhere near the rear. He was still on the phone with dispatch, meaning he was still alive. That is when teams were sent in. Shortly after going in, a mayday came out which put more teams in. That is when the back half came down and they became trapped. Don’t guess if you weren’t involved.

they went in to try to contain the fire that started from the back. They must’ve gotten lost in the smoke and the fire spread throughout the warehouse. Later the building collapsed and the fire consumed the building
An employee called …
An employee called from his cell phone from within the burning building saying that he was trapped and ended up being rescued by fireman that tore through a cinderblock wall. In the meantime fireman entered through the front of the burnung structure to seek out other people that were maybe trapped and in doing so were subjected to a flashover resulting in the roof collapsing. Very tragic.

As for how the fire started, I’d like to slap all smokers silly. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen smokers just flip a lit butt without any concern to where it lands. I’ve had them land in my car.
